Information on Vaginal Thrush
Most women will encounter a condition called vaginal thrush once or twice in their life – some will be quite unfortunate to experience it for more than two times as the condition is remarkably known to reoccur a lot. The good thing is that thrush isn’t actually life threatening. Yet even though it’s relatively safe compared to other diseases to the reproductive system, it can still get very uncomfortable and embarrassing.

Itchiness, redness and a burning sensation are the most common symptoms of thrush. Sometimes –depending on the woman – the symptoms can go as far as manifesting in the form of a white or watery discharge. Fortunately, the condition doesn’t spread up to the uterus or to any other body parts. But sometimes, the intensity of these symptoms can worsen, depending on the woman and her lifestyle. In worst cases, the woman may not be able to live up to her daily routine or engage in sexual acts just because of the condition.
Bacteria called Candida causes thrush. Though Candida can be naturally controlled by our body’s good bacteria, pregnancy, a recent run with antibiotics or pregnancy can cause a Candida outbreak. Wearing underwear or pants from synthetic fibers too can worsen the situation as the bacteria loves to multiply in warm and damp places.
Thrush is easy to treat – sometimes pill and home remedies will suffice – but depending on the woman, it can take days to weeks to cure the condition. Also, it’s important that the women apply or take-in the medications properly otherwise the bacteria will just continue to thrive and wreak havoc to the woman’s vagina.
Pregnant women will have a relatively harder time to deal with the condition so it’s important that the moment the first symptoms arise, a doctor should be told about the situation.
