Using Barbells Correctly

With a number of barbell sets for sale at great prices there has been no better time to begin a weights routine or to replace old equipment.

And free weights are some of the best possible pieces of equipment to improve our strength and size levels for a minimal cost. There are even Olympic weights bars for sale at great prices if we want to get the best possible equipment. But whatever we buy we need to ensure that we carry out our training properly to get the best results.

Here is a quick tip to get the most out of any free weights exercise, whether with barbells or dumbbells.

We need to move slower. So many people lift and lower the weights they are using too quickly. If we do not keep a slow speed then we are missing out on a number of benefits ans will never see as good results as if we moved slower. If we cannot halt the progress of the bar at any point then we are moving to fast.

As a general rule we should consider lifting a bar in 2 seconds and then lowering it in 4 seconds. This will mean that we are always using the bar or dumbbell at a nice controlled speed and we will definitely get the most out of each and every rep that we perform.

We may use lighter weights by working at this speed but the results will be much better than if we swing the weight around without any proper control. We want results and that is what counts so we should try to ensure that we make the most of our training.

Work slowly and always strive to add more weight to the bar each and every time we perform a set and we will see some very good progress indeed. And sooner than we think we will have large muscles and be very strong.
