A New Look At Old Advice For Staying Alert
Everyone wants to be more alert during the day. We can get so much more done and have a better day when we are alert. Sometimes caffeine or other stimulants like energy drinks are what we use. But, ideally, we would work to be alert naturally. No chemicals needed. Below are two ways to help you stay alert naturally.
Get more sleep. This is so obvious, but bears repeating. But, just laying down anywhere to get a little shut eye doesn’t make for the best rest which is what you need to be naturally alert. In order to sleep well, you need a comfortable bed, as well as a comfortable, supportive pillow. A buckwheat pillow is great to have because it allows your head and neck to be in their natural position. Therefore, using a buckwheat hull pillow means you can sleep more comfortably and sleep deeper.
Another obvious answer to being more alert is to get more exercise. Exercise itself naturally makes your more alert. It also helps you sleep better – which also keeps you more alert. Exercise has like a one two punch for staying awake. It’s also important that you shower after physical activity, or at least change your clothes. Although this isn’t as obvious or talked about, it’s important that you get out of sweaty clothes as soon as possible. This will make you feel better. It will also prevent you from cooling off too suddenly, which can cause drowsiness, rather than alertness.
Spending more of your day alert than tired is a goal many of us have. Getting sleep and exercise are said over and over as recommendations for so many reasons. But, even though you’ve heard it a thousand times, there’s no better way to be alert naturally. So get yourself a supportive pillow and vow to spend more time at the gym. It will take a bit of adjustment, but you will enjoy your days much much better.
