Can I Make My Hair Grow Faster?
One fairly standard complaint people make about their hair is that it takes too long to grow. This is especially true after a bad hair cut, of course, but is it even possible to speed up the process?
Many factors are involved in hair growth, the main one being genetics, which we can't do anything about. But our diet and general health are factors, too, and these we can do something about.
How to Make Your Hair Grow Faster
The average person experiences hair growth of roughly half an inch in a month, or about five to six inches a year. You can start by improving your diet, and before you huff about eating well, you probably don't. Most of us don't; just look around you. Eat a rainbow of fruits and vegetables to up your intake of antioxidants and vitamins, and supplement with hair healthy supplements such as zinc, gotu kola, saw palmetto and biotin. Your follicles -- which are the factories that make your hair -- need nutrients to run. Without them, they slow down and may eventually even shut down, leading to hair loss. In addition to nutrients, follicles benefit from increased blood circulation, so massage your scalp and improve your overall circulation with exercise.
Also, take better care of your hair. If you hair is down to your shoulders, the ends are about two years old. Think about what they have been through in that time -- all the scrubbing and combing and brushing and blow drying and flat ironing and coloring and sun and more. Sometimes it is not so much that your hair isn't growing fast enough, it is just that the ends are so frayed and fragile they break off, so while you may not lose length, you just don't seem to make any gains.
But these tips on how to grow hair faster can only go so far. You can definitely achieve some gains with consistent effort, but if you are hoping to double your growth, you will likely be disappointed.
