What Can Plastic Surgery Do For You?

The time was that plastic surgery was reserved primarily for females.  Today male plastic surgery is becoming far more common.  There are many procedures that men can have that can help to enhance their looks.

In both men and women, plastic surgery can be used to help the face.  The size of the nose may be increased or decreased to make it more proportionate to the face.  Wrinkles and smile lines can also be reduced.  This procedure can help to reduce the signs of aging.

Liposuction is a method of removing fat from problem areas.  In men, there are two areas that are prime for liposuction.  Many men, especially those who have been overweight at one point in their life develop male breasts.  Despite a man's dedicated exercise and diet routine, the male breasts may not go away.  Liposuction can remove the fat cells that cause the "mobs" and give the man a more appealing looking chest.  The other area is just above the waist.  In this area, the "love handles" can be removed using liposuction.

Both men and women who lose large amounts of weight, such as persons that have undergone a gastric bypass, can develop a hanging skin apron called a pannus.  The plastic surgeon can remove the hanging skin in a procedure called a panniculectomy.  Sometimes this procedure is combined with liposuction to help to sculpt the body even more.

Many times male plastic surgery is more expensive than surgery for females.  The male tissue is generally tougher and requires more time on the operating table that the female.  This is especially true with liposuction, where due to general body size, there is also more of the fat tissue to remove as well.  Plastic surgery is a surgical procedure and should not be agreed to without considering all the risks.
