Untying Tubes: A Family Issue
Whenever a decision is about to be made regarding an important matter, I always make it a point to involve the entire family. I make sure of this, especially if it is something that is going to affect the whole family, and not just an individual or two. That has been my belief ever since, and thankfully, my wife shares the very same sentiment. Very early on in our marriage, we agreed to have that kind of policy, and that is involve everyone else in the family, unless they are too young to make any sound decisions or suggestions, of course. And now that two of our three children are well on into their teens, that decision is just right. That is proven even more so now, when what we are discussing and need to decide on s a family involves them deeply as well.
The question that we are currently under discussion is to whether to have another child in the family. As far as my wife and I are concerned, we have already agreed that we want another baby. Now, we want to get the reaction of our kids, especially since it is not that simple a decision to make. You see, my wife has already gotten her Fallopian tubes tied, or what you call tubal ligation. I know that there is a process to get it untied, but it is one that can be a little costly. In fact, one of the first questions I gave my wife when we discussed the possibility was, how much does it cost to get your tubes untied. Eventually we agreed on it, and even if it might get costly, we know it is going to be worth it all. And now the kids are about to agree to it as well. They are all just as excited as we are, even though our daughter has to postpone having her Myobrace
this summer. She can have it next year, or she can opt to have cheaper braces instead.
