Don’t Overdo It When You Take Vitamins For Hair Loss

The second most common reason for hair loss is a condition called Telogen effluvium or TE. In order to treat TE, first you need to understand it. Our hair follicles do not continuously produce new growth. They follow a cycle of growing for two years or more, then resting for a couple of months. The growing stage is called Anagen and the resting stage is called Telogen. At any given point in time, 80 to 90% of our hair is growing, while the rest of it is in the resting phase.

TE occurs because the number of hair follicles that are actively producing growth is greatly reduced while those hairs are in the resting phase. The effluvium, or outflow, of hair follicles is increased, meaning you are losing the hairs that were growing.

When you suffer from TE, you lose hair all over your scalp, not just in the normal "bald" spots. Although people with TE seldom lose all of their hair, in extreme cases it has been known to happen. And not only to the hair on your scalp, pubic areas and eyebrows can be affected in severe cases.

One of the main reasons that dermatologist attribute to TE is the lack of iron and other nutrients such as zinc, L-lysine, amino acids, and Vitamins B12 and B6. Vitamin supplements can help you make up any nutrient deficiencies that result from your personal eating habits. However, you need to be careful about taking too much of any one thing. When it comes to vitamins, more is not always better.

While an overdose of vitamin b12 rarely has any side effects, too much vitamin b6 can cause tingling and numbness in your feet and hand. If you continue taking too much for long periods, it can cause permanent damage. Long term overdoses of zinc can result in a weakened immune system, plus it can reduce your ability to absorb antibiotics and other minerals that you need, like iron.
If you think you are suffering from Telogen effluvium, your best bet is to schedule a visit to a dermatologist and let them help you figure out which treatments and/or supplements you should use and in what amounts. Randomly taking vitamins for hair loss can sometimes produce results that are even worse than the original condition you were trying to cure.

Choosing The Best mineral Makeup

One of the newest types of makeup to come out in the cosmetics industry is mineral makeup, this kind of cosmetic is designed to be kind to your skin and not cause or worsen skin conditions such as acne or breakouts of spots in general. If you are a woman who has sensitive skin or if you are prone to breakouts of acne then this form of cosmetics may well be the best type for you to look into purchasing.

Mineral makeup will also be seen associated with the term 'non comedogenic' which simply means that it will not cause spots or block your pores like some regular types of makeup can. The term can be better understood when you are aware that whiteheads and blackheads are also known as 'comedones', hence the use of the term 'non comedogenic makeup'.

One popular brand of makeup in this category is the Meaningful Beauty range which seems to have mixed reviews online. The main problem that women who want a healthy skincare choice complained about with this product is the fact that the list of ingredients is kept a secret. This is not ideal for those who have existing skin conditions as there may be certain items within the product that they wish to avoid. Much better to find something that is more forthcoming in the ingredients area if you yourself are likely to suffer from a breakout if the wrong substances come into contact with your skin.

When looking for the best mineral makeup for your skin type it is always recommended that you read the labels and cross reference this information to make sure that all ingredients are truly natural. Even when you have found a good brand it is also wise to consult with a skin care expert to advise you as to whether or not you should be using the product. When you do begin to use a new product you should also test it in a small area of your skin for a couple of days just to be sure that it is not going to cause a reaction.

Laser Hair Removal Facts You Should Know

People who suffer with unwanted hair will do just about anything to solve the problem. Waxing and shaving provide short-term relief. That’s better than nothing, but the hair quickly returns. Electrolysis is another option, but some people fear the pain. Consider laser hair removal as possibly another alternative. Here’s a list of 5 important laser hair removal facts you should know.

1. Laser hair removal uses a laser to stop unwanted hair growth.

The laser emits a beam of light that passes through your skin. As it goes through your skin, the light reaches your hair follicles. Heat from the laser damages the follicles. A damaged follicle cannot grow hair, but it depends on the amount of damage done.

2. The procedure works best for people with light skin and dark hair.

In order for the treatment to work, your skin must absorb light from the laser. However, dark skin often absorbs too much light. This can result in skin discoloration, blistering and burning. People with dark skin are advised to speak with a trained professional before agreeing to laser hair removal treatments.

The procedure works best on dark hair. The laser uses light to target and destroy dark pigment in your hair. Since light hair has very light pigment, the laser doesn’t work as well. People with light hair are advised to consider electrolysis.

3. The hair may grow back.

Some people experience permanent results. For others the hair may grow back, but thinner than before. You can receive maintenance treatments if the hair returns.

4. Results take time.

Laser hair removal definitely slows the rate of hair growth. Several treatments are needed before results are noticeable. The hair should start falling out after a few treatments. The number of treatments you need depends on the thickness and abundance of the hair, and also your hair growth cycles as the hair is growing at different intervals.

5. Good for Treating Large Areas

Laser hair removal treats several follicles at once. It can take as little as 2 or 3 hours to treat both the chest and legs.

Use these facts to decide which form of hair removal is best for you.
