Healthy Happy Cooking for Toddlers

Everyone knows that healthy is happy! Cooking for teething toddlers to maintain their health can be a challenge. Sometimes their sweet gums are sensitive and they just don't want regular food, even tho their diet permits it.

Foods for teething toddlers come in two types- those that are firm, like a bagel to gnaw on, and those that are soft, because they are comforting.

What kitchen and cooking equipment would be good for toddlers? This is specialty chef cooking at its best.  When shopping for toddler cooking equipment, consider how it will be used, and then seek out the best items at best value.

One good gadget might be a potato masher. By making mashed potatoes, this will be something a toddler can eat without many teeth. Mashed potatoes are also great for independence, because the young toddler can eat with his hands, or with his new spoon.

If you have a boiling pot, cooking some plain spaghetti would be good. Not firm as adults might prefer, but rather pretty much to the mushy stage.

Boiled baby spinach ground up in a food grinder can be mixed with a little water.  Then add some baby rice cereal, and mix it to a smooth consistency.

Another green food which toddlers enjoy is mashed avocado.  Resist the temptation to make full blown guacamole, as hot peppers, onions, and tomatoes may not be a wise choice. Particularly if the young one rubs his eyes. Not to mention that spicy food could be disliked or produce a bad reaction internally.

If pain is present, firm foods will not be popular. In that event, they should be avoided.

The good thing about toddlers is that they are pretty transparent human beings. They are hyper-expressive. They will tell you what they like and what they don't like. Just pay close attention to their communication.

Even if it is extra work to mash adult foods to a super-soft consistency, it is worth the effort. Despite teething, you want you little one to develop a varied palate, and to appreciate different tastes. You can prepare healthy foods with the perfect texture for your growing child with the help of the proper kitchen cooking equipment.
