Alleviating Back Pains

As more of us work longer hours sat at desk in front of computers we are growing increasingly at risk of serious back problems.

Exacerbated by bad habits and poor seating positions, this can cause serious discomfort and if left untreated can lead to greater problems in later life which may result in one being confined to a wheelchair or having to walk with the aid of a walking stick.

Many of us carry heavy loads on our backs as travellers, commuters, school children or shoppers without considering the side effects or problems we might inadvertently be causing.
Guitarists can often be seen thrashing around on stage with heavy instruments strapped around their necks, clearly with no regard for the damage they are unwittingly doing.
We need to stop and think about the effect that all of these activities are having on our neck, shoulders, back and spine.

These are highly sensitive and important areas of our bodies which are vital to our daily lives and mobility, yet we simply do not give this enough consideration.

The answer to what could potentially be years of immense discomfort is simple. Use the correct equipment that will take the load so your back or neck doesn't have to.

Builders don't carry bricks and heavy building materials on their backs, they transport their heavy loads carry their loads in wheelbarrows. Similarly travellers and commuters should use wheeled luggage to move their loads around.

Guitarists should use a padded guitar strap if they want to lessen the damage they are causing.

Office workers should insist that their employers invest in recommended ergonomic office furniture.

We can stave off potential problems if we take the time to explore the many solutions.

If your mobility and quality of life is of value to you, get the right luggage, chair or padded strap and take the load off your back.
