A New Era of Gout Remedies
Even in this modern era most of the people prefer home remedies for gout instead of going for professional medical treatment. However, some people like to use these home remedies along with proper medical treatment for distressing ailment of gout. Whatever the way of treatment is being used the purpose is always to eliminate the crystals of uric acid deposited in joint areas, the main cause of gout. However, there is a long list of home remedies used in treating gout, but some of most beneficial and simple remedies are discussed here.
Citrus fruits are rich source of Vitamin C. These fruits can be used to eliminate the deposition of uric acid easily. For example, half lemon juice in one glass of water if taken trice a day at regular intervals can effectively dissolve the uric acid deposits. Taking an apple a day can also prove helpful in treating gout. Moreover, consuming 10-15 cherries or strawberries a day can reduce the pain of joints.
Not only Vitamin rich foods are effective in this case but also those rich in minerals are being used as successful home remedies for gout. Like banana, which is a rich source of phosphorus chemically reacts with uric acid and dissolves its accumulation. Alfalfa, another mineral rich food helps in reducing the concentration of uric acid and prevents further deposition. Taking half-cup juice of French beans daily can also reduce the inflammation and pain caused by gout. Green leafy vegetables including spinach, pepper, radish etc have also been used for many decades in treating gout.
Some mixtures are also being recommended in treating gout at home. Like two teaspoon of organic apple, cider vinegar with two teaspoon of honey can be taken twice a day to minimize the pain of joins. Moreover, boil one-teaspoon pepper in one-cup vinegar and one-cup water, then apply it over affected areas and leave for 2-3 hours. It is considered one of the best treatments for gout.
Not only foods and spices can be used as home remedies for gout but simple water can also do a magic in this regard. Just take excess of clean water; about 8-10 glasses a day to remove excess uric acid in the through urination. Moreover, ice is the cheapest and the most readily available remedy for reducing the pain and swallowing by placing it on affected areas. But remember it is a temporary remedy to relieve the pain and swelling; other methods of treatment must be used to treat the gout effectively.
