Acne: Is There Such a Thing as a Miracle Cure?

Many people suffer with acne, to varying degrees, yet they all have one thing in common, frustration with trying to keep it in check.  By the time you have one area under control, it is not uncommon for another area to break out. Sometimes, when the cream you are using seems to not be working, you quickly go from one thing to another, trying to find something that will work faster. It may be applying toothpaste to the troublesome area, or bathing your face in sunlight.  There are many 'quick cures', but do they work?

Acne: Why Look for Miracle Cures?

To most people, acne is a condition that is best gotten rid of as soon as possible, thus the search for a miracle cure. Especially in severe cases of acne, people want to see immediate results because having acne makes people feel bad, and it lowers their self-esteem. It is possible, using modern medical and cosmetic methods, to get control of acne, but it takes time. It is not an overnight treatment. Because people want to know how to get rid of acne fast, they turn to so-called miracle cures. This is especially the case if there is an important event coming up. There are, however, even quick medical cures for acne such as steroid injections and although you would not want to do it too often, it can be a help once or twice.

Acne: Why Doesn't Modern Medicine Provide Quick Cures for Acne?

Modern medicine can cure acne, it is just that it takes time. It is understandable, if you have acne, that you want to get rid of it right away, instantly. But medicine, for any sickness, usually takes time to work and that is the same with treatments for acne.  Benzoyl Peroxide, Salicycle Acid or Retinoids all work, but they take time. It is often a lack of patience that forces us to try a quick, fast cure to become acne free even though most people realize that they really do not work.  In fact, oftentimes not only do these quick cures not work, but they can actually harm your face and skin even more. If you have acne, please have it treated by a proper health provider, using modern medical treatments. Even the most stubborn and severe form of acne is treatable.
